The Chinese Panda has always been a popular collectible coin, as its Panda design changes every mintage year. In 2016, the China Mint switched from the traditional ounce weights to grams to match the metric system. The obverse depicts the year of issue, along with the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests in the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, encircled by the phrase “People’s Republic of China” in Chinese.
