Joseph E. Meyer is the President of Meyer and Associates, a respected financial strategist, and a trusted voice in the world of finance and investment arbitration. Joseph began his career in the early 1970s as a broker-dealer trainee with Edwards & Hanley, a member of the New York Stock Exchange. Over the years, he served as a registered representative with several prestigious NYSE firms, including Merrill Lynch, Shearson Hayden Stone Inc., and Paine Webber Jackson & Curtis. In addition to his brokerage background, Meyer was a licensed professional insurance agent, qualified in life, health, disability, and annuity coverage with Bankers Life and Casualty Company.
Transitioning into independent advisory, he became a stock market strategist, equity trader, and eventually a registered investment adviser. In 1989, he founded Meyer and Associates, a management consulting firm specializing in the disposition of non-performing structured assets. His firm has served as an approved database contractor for both the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Resolution Trust Corporation, with jurisdictional reach from Puerto Rico to Alaska.
Meyer is also a respected figure in the field of securities arbitration and mediation. He has served as an “Industry Arbitrator” with both the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). In 1997, he was officially approved as a NASD Regulation Mediator and later as a Mediator within the NYSE forum, where he continues to serve, frequently acting as a panel chairman on high-profile and complex securities law cases.
